Changed Soldier, Vol. 1

Chained Soldier, originally titled Mato Seihei no Slave, is a Japanese manga series written by Takahiro and illustrated by Yohei Takemura. Serialized since January 2019 on Shueisha's Shōnen Jump+ platform, the series has been compiled into 17 volumes as of December 2024.

The narrative unfolds in a world where gates to a parallel dimension, known as "Mato," have appeared across Japan, unleashing monstrous entities called "Shuuki." Women who consume a mystical "Peach" from this realm gain supernatural abilities, leading to a matriarchal society tasked with humanity's defense. The story centers on Yuuki Wakura, a recent high school graduate who inadvertently enters Mato and encounters Kyouka Uzen, the commander of the 7th squad of the Demon Defense Force. To combat the Shuuki, Kyouka uses her power to "enslave" Yuuki, transforming him into her "slave" to enhance their combat capabilities. This partnership propels them into a series of battles and unveils deeper mysteries within Mato.

An anime adaptation by Seven Arcs aired from January to March 2024, with a second season by Passione announced for future release. The series is licensed for English distribution by Sentai Filmworks.

Chained Soldier combines action and dark fantasy elements, exploring themes of power dynamics, societal structures, and the complexities of human relationships in a supernatural context.
